Clearly Identified Event: I am choosing
to write about a writing assignment that helped strengthen my confidence due to
the help of my parents and my teacher. The teacher is an older woman about
average height, speaks kindly and respectfully and she is very supportive of
her students.
Clearly Described Setting: The setting
takes place in a high school classroom. It is a small classroom with only eighteen
students so there were more desks then necessary. This took place in my freshman
year.
3 Possible Vivid Details: What made this experience
stand out in my mind was my emotions. I could use those emotions to generate details
that describe my stress, nervousness and relief. The vivid descriptions could
also be used to describe the classroom and my teacher.
4 Consistent Point of View: The story is
about one of my memories so it will be in a first-person format.
5 A Clear Point: The main problem is that I
was worried how my poem (that was the genre of the writing assignment) would be
judged. I was also embarrassed by this fear. The message I want to be received from
this has been said many times before, but I guess saying it one more time
wouldn't hurt: don’t be afraid to be yourself.
